Alexandra-Maria-Lara

Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is the Romanian TV presenter and actress. She is best known for her role as the star of Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. The sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra began her showbiz career at a young age. She played lead roles in dramas on television as young when she was just 16. After the critically-acclaimed performance in the TV film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went further to take on other memorable roles such as Adolf Hitler's secretary, Traudljunge, for the film Downfall. Downfall was nominated for an Oscar and was praised by critics. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are other Oscar nominated features featuring women. Over the years Alexandra was involved in numerous noteworthy national and international projects. These projects include those of the British biographical Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time as well as French historical Miniseries Napoleon. In addition, she was one of the members of both Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
